East Charlotte - Rosa Price always told her only son Alvin to be careful walking at night. Rosa Price says, "I told him to stop walking at night before he gets hurt, you know how people kill people kill people out there...I told him to stop walking."

Price's Mom and Aunt worried about him walking all the time. Jennifer Price says, "Scared he was going to get hurt out there, yes, I was worried about him."

His family says police officers knocked on their door around midnight Saturday and told them Price had been hit and killed by a car. Price says, "You don't kill anything like that, not even a cat or a dog."

Police say 54-year olf Alvin Price was in the Northbound lane of Eastway Boulevard at Howie Cirle, when a red sports car struck and killed him. Witnesses told police that the car made a u-turn and drove back to the scene and then sped off. Now they are looking for that hit and run driver.
