CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Your morning commute won't be held up by road work in Concord and Northeast Mecklenburg County any longer than planned.

The state DOT says construction on the final stretch of I-485 is on schedule. The project includes connecting I-485 to I-85, and widening I-85 near Concord Mills.

That Stretch sees as many as 120,000 drivers a day. The project manager says the last stretch of the loop should be finished by December 2014.
