Ice Unit Busts Granite Falls Man with Marijuana
GRANITE FALLS, NC - Salomon Soto, 33, of Hurricane Hill Road in Granite Falls was charged by the Sheriff’s Office Ice Unit with one count of felony maintain a dwelling to keep/store a controlled substance and one count of felony possess with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana. The NCSBI also assisted in this investigation. Soto, who is originally from California, is currently on federal supervised release for a prior robbery conviction.
Agents, acting on credible information that Soto could be dealing in drugs, conducted a search of his home and property. Agents found a little over 1 pound of marijuana, which had been packaged in several different locations within a garage behind the home. Inside the garage were also several coolers which contained marijuana residue, evidence that marijuana had been previously contained in them. Soto was immediately arrested and booked in the Caldwell County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond. The marijuana has a street value of over $3,000.00 according to state guidelines.

Soto was arrested and charged with the listed crimes:
One (1) Count – Felonious Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana.
One (1) Count – Felonious Maintain a Dwelling to Keep/Store a Controlled Substance.
Soto was incarcerated under a $15,000 secured bond in the Caldwell County Detention Center and has a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on March 21.
