Indian Trail Meeting Sparks ProtestINDIAN TRAIL,NC--It got heated in Indian trail Saturday after dozens showed up at a meeting to protest a contract to give the town council more control over Indian Trail's twenty two sheriff deputies. One council member at the meeting made a motion to create their own police department, but residents say that would cost to much money and jeopardize their safety. Sheriff Eddie Cathy said "This meeting was a positive meeting here for the Sheriff's office and it was a positive meeting for the town council, because now they know what direction they're moving in. We'll work with them on any issue they have and we'll move forward." The council voted three to two to continue working with the Sheriff's office. Check back with Fox Charlotte for updates.
