Kidnapping Suspect In Custody

East Charlotte--A woman and man in a yellow rented truck pulled up to the Silver Oak Apartments in East Charlotte on Sunday night.
Inside, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say Cristino Leon tied up his sister Clementina Leon with duct tape
and kidnapped their 12 year-old niece.
Investigators have not yet released a motive for the crime.
The 12 year old victim was found Saturday, nearly 200 miles away, outside a restaurant in Jefferson, Georgia.
Police say she jumped out of the car she was riding in with her uncle and flagged down a woman who
called 911.
East Charlotte Resident Tiyoka Phifer said, "I hopefully find him because its really tragic."
Phifer and her husband live with their two kids in the same building.
They say they are shocked and surprised about what happened.
East Charlotte Resident Luther Phifer said, "Once it hits close to your front door you're on a higher alert than normal."
Cristino Leon will remain in the Spartanburg County Detention Center until he has an extradition hearing.
