CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Burn bandages wrap their little arms and legs, pink skin spots their tiny faces and still healing skin grafts patchwork their bodies.  Relative Tarra McLean says, "We gotta wake up listening to them holler and have nightmares and they're traumatized.  They can't stop saying Gina burnt them."

Police say Regina Terry threw the grease on the kids as well as a couple adults.  She remains in the Mecklenburg County jail under more than half a million dollars bond.

McLean says her north Charlotte family members were arguing - but not out of control - when Terry threw the boiling liquid last month.  She calls it "pure evil" and wonders what Terry was thinking.  She says, "You (Terry) thought about going into the kitchen (and) heating up a big pot of grease."

After three weeks in the hospital, the kids are now recovering at home.  McLean's mother and sister remain in the burn center at Chapel Hill.  She says, "My mom, she just had surgery Monday. They said everything went good with her."

The family is asking for prayers and donations.  One account has been set up at Wells Fargo, another online.   Family member Tweet McLean says, "The one online has just barely maybe touched a thousand dollars."

With six burned family members to take care of, the bills are piling up and the emotional trauma continues to take it's toll.  McLean wonders, "Who would do something like that?"
