CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Thursday night a few dozen people gathered in South Charlotte to listen to Kim Crespi, the wife of convicted murderer David Crespi.

In 2006, David killed his twin five year old girls in their Matthews home. He and his family blame what they call the "Psychotic Episode" on prescription drugs.

Kim is now working to raise awareness about medication side effects. She shared her families experience with a crowd of about 40 people at the South Charlotte Banquet Hall Thursday night.

Kim said she wants her husband to be released from prison because she says the drugs, not him, are the problem.

David Crespi is serving two consecutive life sentences. Kim was joined at Thursday night's presentation by David Carmichael.

Carmichael killed his son in 2004 but was judged "not criminally responsible" because he was on an antidepressant at the time.
