Lancaster Dad Arrested In Death of 5-Year-Old SonLANCASTER, SC -- A Lancaster father has been charged in the death of his 5-year-old son. Officers with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office say around 12:40 a.m. they responded to Craig Farm Road in regards to a medical problem. When they arrived they found the child unresponsive in the bathroom. Police say Phillip Gleason was the only one at the home with the child. Emergency Medical Services transported the child to Springs Memorial where the child later died. During the course of the investigation officials say they found suspicious injuries to the child's body. Gleason is currently in the Lancaster County Detention Center is being charge with Homicide by Child Abuse. He is awaiting a bond hearing. The investigation thus far shows that the child died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head. |
