CHARLOTTE, NC -- A team of trekkers from Charlotte left on July 9th to travel to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

They are part of an organization that introduces people with disabilities to all types of outdoor activities called "Trek for TEF."

Tony Monaco has been training his son Tyler and Nate Davis for the past few months. WCCB caught up with them during on of their practices at Crowders Mountain.

Nate had cerebral hemorrhage at birth, which has led to some cognitive challenges. The 22-year-old says he's very excited about his trek up the world famous mountain.

WCCB, Charlotte's CW, is going to the ends of the earth to tell the world about "The Flash".

WCCB gave the trekkers a "The Flash" flag and action figure for their adventure.  They are taking photos along the way with "The Flash".  Keep checking back to see updated photos of their trip.

Watch the series premiere of "THE FLASH" on WCCB Charlotte on Tuesday, October 7th at 8pm.
