Lotus's First Surgery Success

by WCCB Charlotte

CHARLOTTE,NC--Taking away pain and improving the quality of life for a dog that was left to die.

Lotus had her first surgery Wednesday to remove one of her front legs after it had been broken and never allowed to heal properly.

The Pit Bull was found by a neighbor shortly after she was beaten and thrown in a pond to die.

Vets say Lotus's amputation was a last resort but was a necessary procedure. The vets also say once her stitches are removed she will have one more operation to repair her hip damage.

Investigators have not found the person responsible for beating the puppy and throwing her into a pond. If you have any information please contact police.
