Man Accused of Raping Teen he met on FacebookLINCOLN COUNTY, N.C.-- Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office arrested a man they say raped a teen girl he met on Facebook. Robert William Carl Weaver, 19, of Cherryville, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with one felony count of statutory rape of a person 13, 14 or 15 years old by a defendant 6 years older than the victim. According to detectives, Weaver picked up the 13 year old girl and brought her back to his Lincoln County home where the incident occurred. The investigation showed Weaver has more than 1,200 Facebook friends, of which many are teenage girls. Weaver was released from the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center on a $9,900 secured bond. |
