Man Hit by Stray Bullet, Family Searches for Answers
CHARLOTTE, NC -- Tonight the family of a man hit by a stray bullet in northeast Charlotte is searching for answers. Brandon Yam is listed in fair condition. The bullet is still lodged in his head, while doctors wait for the swelling to go down. The caliber of the bullet is unknown.
Family members say they haven't been given any updates on the investigation into Friday night's shooting. It happened during a festival at a Cambodian Buddhist temple off North Tryon Street.
"I know it's like a stray bullet from somewhere. We know that, but we just don't know who did it or why they did it. That is just up in the air. That's what, you know, I want to find out," said Yam's sister Chenda Wilson.
Yam's family says he is suffering from memory loss and partial paralysis.
