CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Governor Pat McCrory says he had no part in a $90 million incentives deal to bring MetLife to North Carolina.

Before being elected in November, McCrory worked for the lobbying firm MetLife hired to broker its deal.

The insurance giant plans to split 2,600 jobs between Charlotte and Cary.  In return, it get's $94 million in tax breaks.

McCrory says he never worked directly with MetLife at Moore and Van Allen.  He says his first direct involvement was last week's when he talked to MetLife's CEO about the done deal.
