CHARLOTTE, N.C.--People worried about foreclosure can get help saving their homes starting Thursday.

Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America or NACA will hold its "American Dream" event at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Homeowners can connect with counselors who will help them lower their mortgage and interest payments.

NACA will also offer independent reviews to help people who believe their bank illegally foreclosed on them.

The "American Dream" event runs through Monday.  It's the third time NACA has held the program in Charlotte.
