For the first time, an electric Ford Focus lead racers in the Capital City 400 at the Richmond International Speedway in Virginia Saturday night.

Analysts say its a sign electric cars have a future.

But, it's not the only sign Nascar is going green.

Nascar drivers have already logged 2 million miles while powered by E-15.

A blend of 15-percent ethanol and 85-percent gasoline.

Drivers say Ethanol increased horsepower.

Nascar claims to have the largest recycling program in sports.
