CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Neighbors are putting together a petition to get a crosswalk where a man was killed crossing a street in southwest Charlotte.

The victim of Friday's accident is the son of a resident at Steele Creek Seniors Housing off Steele Creek Road.

The speed limit is 50 mph.  Some of the residents worry about crossing the road to catch the bus.

The residents also want more lights.  They plan to present their petition to Mayor Anthony Foxx on Thursday.
