CHARLOTTE, N.C.--An emotional night Tuesday at the County Commission meeting as the panel remembered two-term commissioner, Neil Cooksey.

The 50-year-old died last week after battling Pancreatic cancer for two years.

Commissioners presented Cooksey's family with the "Order of the Hornet."  It's the county's highest honor.

County Manager Harry Jones is also fighting Pancreatic cancer.

Cooksey is survived by his wife, Allyson and children, Charlie, Anna and Abigail.
