ROCK HILL, SC- Experts say about 80 percent of online predators target kids as young as 14.

Karrie Hubbard monitors her 11 year-old daughter's Facebook very closely.

"I've got it set up on my phone so when someone messages her, I receive it. When somebody friend requests her, I receive it. So, I can monitor at all times," said Hubbard, a Rock Hill resident.

Hubbard says she's more vigilant now than ever because of online predators.

"They don't have to go and sit at a park anymore and make their preys that way. All they have to do is log on and find sweet innocent kids who are so gullible," said HUbbard.

To combat this problem, a group of students at Ben-Gurion University developed the social privacy protector for facebook.

"The children want to be more popular, so they try to collect friends. Bad people take advantage of this..become their friend and take their information," one of the app's creators.

Creators say the app allows parents to weed out fake or dangerous profiles in just one click.
It analyzes each friend and  gives a score based on mutual friends, profile nformation and pictures. It flags the lowest scores as suspicious and recommends deleting or restricting.

Hubbard says she'll use the app to help protect her daughter.
