CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Shanita Purdom has been trying to refinance her mortgage for four years. "Very frustrating," she said. Purdom is one of the hundreds of homeowners expected to attend the
Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America's Mortgage relief event at the Charlotte Convention Center in Uptown this weekend.

It provides a last chance for homeowners risking foreclosure. "It would be so helpful if we got off this awful squeeze and our mortgage was lowered," said Rock Hill Resident Brenda Hill.

NACA says they have an 80 percent success rate and  have modified 200 thousand loans since they formed in 1988. "No one should pay anybody a penny to save their home so everything we do is free.
Its one of those things that sounds too good to be true but we've been doing it for over twenty years," said NACA Founder & CEO Bruce Marks.

NACA says it could take up to 40 days for what they call a same day solution. Purdom has packed her patience,  "Hopefully NACA can do some stuff and work some miracles because that's why I'm here to see. A miracle happen," she said.
