CHARLOTTE, N.C. - There may soon be a solution to the daily traffic jam of cars backed up on Mount Holly-Huntersville Rd at Highway 16.  City Council member James Mitchell has asked the state Department of Transportation to add turn lanes from 16 to the nearby Walmart.

Similar requests had been turned down due to the DOT planning on building a bridge over 16, however that project is no longer a part of the 20 year plan.  Local business have said they are willing to help the city pay for the $750,000 improvements.  If approved, construction could begin in August.
