Officer Injured After Intoxicated Driver Strikes Patrol Car

 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say an intoxicated driver struck a marked patrol car injuring an officer Saturday morning.

Officer Trevor Gail was assisting a tractor trailer that was blocking the right lane of East Independence Boulevard when his patrol car was hit. Gail received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver, Christopher Parrish also received minor injuries from the crash and was taken to the hospital.  After Parrish was released from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with felony serious injury by vehicle, DWI and failure to comply with driver's license restrictions.
