Good Samaritan, One Other Killed In Wreck on I-77
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Two people were killed, one being a good Samaritan, in an overnight wreck on Interstate 77.
The wreck happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of the interstate near the Westinghouse Boulevard exit. All northbound lanes were shut down for about four hours before opening back up for the morning commute.
A source told WCCB one of the victims stopped to help the driver of a car that was idling in the shoulder when a tractor trailer slammed into the vehicle, killing the two.
The driver of the truck was not injured. No charges have been filed.
