PTL Castle Will Soon Be RubbleFORT MILL, SC -- Crews started tearing down an eyesore in Fort Mill until the county told them to pack up and go home. Neighbors have been fighting for years with Morningstar Ministries to get the old PTL castle torn down, but a 'stop work' sign halted the crews because they didn't have a demolition permit. Neighbors who can see the castle from their homes say they will be happy to see it go but are more concerned about the 21 story unfinished tower. Morningstar signed a five year agreement in 2009 to renovate the tower but no visible changes have been made. York county officials voted not to give the ministry an extension last March. |
