Panthers Name Ray Brown Assistant O-Line Coach

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that former long time NFL offensive lineman Ray Brown has been hired as the team’s assistant offensive line coach.

He will work with offensive line coach John Matsko, who joined the Panthers last week.

Brown, 48, most recently served in the same capacity for the San Francisco 49ers last season and was with the Buffalo Bills the previous two seasons after retiring from a 20‐year playing career in
the NFL.

Originally an eighth round draft selection of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986, Brown played twenty seasons and 265 games at both guard and tackle with four different teams – St. Louis (1986‐89),
Washington (1989‐95; 2004‐05), San Francisco (1996‐01), and Detroit (2002‐03).

He was a member of the Redskins 1991 Super Bowl Championship team and earned Pro Bowl and first team All‐Pro honors while playing right guard for the 49es in 2001.
