Parents Search for New Schools as Student First Academy Closes Doors

by WCCB Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Hundreds of families forced to find new schools for their kids are frustrated and running out of time.  Student First Academy is closing next Tuesday, just two months before the end of the school year.  CMS and several private schools held an information session for parents Monday night.  Families are supposed to enroll in new schools by Friday.  Parents say it's not that easy.

"You go to a school and you think that your child, you're giving your child the best education possible, and then you come to find out your kids are kicked out of school," said Student First parent Inga Mayfield.

About 300 students attend Student First Academy.  The school opened in August.  It's closing due to money and management problems.
