Peace Passers to Represent USA at Beach Soccer International Championship

by Fox Charlotte

With the Olympics on everyone's minds these days, it makes sense to also acknowledge another USA team representing our finest in women's Beach Soccer - the Peace Passers. The team name Peace Passers represents the non-profit organization PeacePassers.org which helps distribute soccer equipment to impoverished communities around the world. The team travels all over to play and spread the word about the charity.

Eight players from Charlotte will be traveling to Montreal Aug 16-20 to represent the United States of America in an international tournament. It is a huge honor to not only represent the USA but also Charlotte, NC, bringing the Queen City to a national and international spotlight. Last year, the Peace Passers won the Major Beach Soccer National Title which gave them the opportunity to compete in Montreal this year.

The Peace Passers are a group of women who have been playing soccer together for 9 years post-college. Most of them have reached the 30 year-old + mark, and they all hold full-time jobs/careers, and balance family, husbands and even kids. Soccer continues to be a priority as each of the women are committed to maintaining the highest level of fitness and competitive spirit.
