Police Arrest Lincolnton Man on Child Pornography Charges
LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- A Lincoln County man has been arrested on child pornography charges following an investigation. Lincoln County Sheriff's Detective Don Mauldin was notified on October 3, 2012, by the FBI Cyber Crime Task Force in Charlotte requesting an investigation into the distribution of child pornography in eastern Lincoln County. On October 11, 2012, armed with a federal search warrant, FBI Cyber Crime Task Force Members, Lt. Erin Long, Deputy Ryan Causby and Detective Mauldin went to a residence in the 7100 block of Quail Hunt Drive in Stanley, NC. At the residence, they conducted a preliminary forensics examination and discovered images and videos of child pornography. Investigators seized three laptops, a Think Pad and an iPhone. The investigation was initiated after an FBI undercover agent received the child pornographic images and video from the suspect residing at the address, by means of the internet. Detective Mauldin arrested the suspect, Sebastian Alexander Morris, 26, on four felony counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploit of a Minor/Distribute Material. He is in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond. Investigation is continuing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
