Police Officer Charged with DUI Fired

ROCK HILL, S.C.-- A Rock Hill Police Officer charged with a DUI in Fort Mill Sunday is out of a job.

In a statement sent Tuesday morning, Rock Hill Police Chief John Gregory announced he "ended the employment relationship with Sammy Figueroa on this date."

Reasons cited for firing Figueroa include a violation of South Carolina laws 56-5-2930, 56-5-2950, 56-5-2951, a violation of Personnel Resolutions 7.22 Personal Conduct, 8.03 Dismissal or Demotion, 8.04 Disciplinary Action, 8.05 Safety Violations, 8.15 City Ethics Policy and a violation of General Orders 02.01.01 – 02.01.60 Rules of Conduct.

Figueroa was with the department for three years.
