HICKORY, N.C.-- The routine serving of a search warrant turned into a shootout, with two people shot, one being a Hickory Police Officer.
According to police, officers were serving a search warrant for controlled substances at a home on 31st Street Court SE when one of the occupants started shooting at officers. One officer was shot in the chest, but his bulletproof vest prevented injury.
