Police Search for Suspect Who Cut Off Electronic MonitorCHARLOTTE, N.C.-- The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) with CMPD is searching for a suspect who cut off his electronic monitoring device. Channing Avery Banks, 19, is wanted on outstanding warrants for larceny from person, possession of stolen property, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device. Banks was last seen near his residence on Cates Street. Banks is the 25th offender monitored by CMPD to cut a monitor off in 2012. Only 19 monitors were cut off during the same time period in 2011. All of the prior 24 offenders who cut off monitors have been apprehended.
