CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- UPDATE: Police have arrested the second suspect involved in an undercover drug operation in north Charlotte. Davion Drayton was located at a friend's home in the Hidden Valley neighborhood.

On Tuesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives were conducting a drug sting in the parking lot of Hidden Valley Elementary School. Chief Rodney Monroe says the location was pre-arranged by the suspects to conduct a drug transaction with an informant.

There were no children present at the school at the time of the incident.

After completing the transaction, the suspects left briefly but soon returned and were seen carrying handguns. Investigators say they believe the suspects were attempting to rob the informant and an undercover officer.

Police say Jaquaz Walker fired shots at the informant causing non-life threatening injuries. The detectives returned fire, hitting Walker. Medic transported Walker to Carolinas Medical Center where he later died. The second suspect, identified as Davion Drayton fled on foot.

Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Drayton.
