Private Investigator Searches for New Clues in Crystal Morrison Disappearance
CONCORD, NC - "Can you imagine waking up Christmas morning with your Mom, gone? That's what we're facing," says Crystal Morrison's dad Rick.
Family members are holding out hope Crystal will be reunited with her 8-year-old son.
"I really don't want to tell Kyson Christmas Day that his mom won't be here," Rick explains.
Now over three months since Crystal disappeared, the family says the trail has gone cold.
Private investigator Kevin Ryan is coming on board.
He'll start from scratch and talk with everyone Crystal saw the day she disappeared.
"We're really gonna turn up the heat on this," Ryan says.
And for the first time, family members admit Crystal battled drug issues in her past.
Her dad says that was five or six years ago and doesn't think that's the case now.
"I, as her Dad, do not believe that is true. And I don't look at the world through rosy colored glasses," Morrison says.
Because Crystal was last seen so close to Interstate 85, investigators are also looking into human trafficking as a possible reason for her disappearance.
Though they say at 32, she may be too old to be a human trafficking target.
The PI has questioned Crystal's boyfriend, who dropped her off at work the day she disappeared.
Ryan says his interview didn't raise any red flags.
"We're still questioning everybody involved. He's been very cooperative," Ryan says.
The CUE Center for Missing Persons is also joining the search.
