Push For More Major Sporting Events In CharlotteCHARLOTTE,NC--Charlotte Sports Foundation is pushing to bring more major sporting events to the Charlotte area. The non profit group formed because it wants to create and execute events that are on par with the Belk Bowl and the Doctor Pepper ACC football championship game. Executive director Will Webb says the foundation's mission is to "create, recruit and execute high-caliber athletic events" on par with the ACC Football championship and Belk Bowl, which are currently held in Charlotte.
