CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Mothers, fathers, and children have all been murdered in Charlotte. Tuesday night they were remembered in a public way.

September 25th is nationally know as a day of remembrance for murder victims. For the first time, the families of Charlotte victims held a local observance in Uptown.

They carried candles and one by one read their loved ones name aloud, many asking for justice.

There were 33 homicides through August 2012 in Charlotte, compared to 35 during the same time last year. That is nearly six percent decrease.
