CHARLOTTE, NC - "We're expecting some pretty crazy reactions, but that's kinda why I'm doing it, to get a rile out of people," says South Charlotte resident Richard Purcell.

Purcell isn't embarrassed to take off his pants.

Sunday afternoon he's organized a No-Pants Light Rail Ride from the Scaleybark station to Uptown.

It's based on similar pranks-gone-viral in New York and London.

"I've always admired improv everywhere for the pranks they do, mainly in New York City, and I've always thought of pranks I can replicate here in Charlotte."

So, no pants, no problem? Not exactly everyone is excited about people riding the light rail without pants.

Some light rail riders told us...

-"I'd be embarrassed and uncomfortable."

-"I would, turn my head, and there's kids out here, I don't think it's a good thing."

-"I'd probably think there's a bunch of crazy people getting on the light rail."

"-Ummm.. are they wearing underwear? Yeah? Well I still think it'd be a little creepy!"

But Purcell says it's all in good fun.

"Just something fun, friendly, just to put a smile on people's faces cause there's a lot of other not so nice things going on in the news right now," he says.

And for a good cause.

The pants - they won't be wearing - will be donated to charity.
