Former Rowan County Deputy In Court On Monday for Stalking Charges

ROWAN COUNTY, NC -- UPDATE: Kannapolis Police have arrested a Rowan County Deputy after he was accused of stalking. On Friday, Brian Long was taken into custody after a vehicle stop near the Walmart, in Kannapolis. He was served with a misdemeanor warrant for stalking and was taken to the Cabarrus County Detention Center.

Long is set to appear before a judge on Monday.

On Friday, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office mailed a letter to Brian Long’s last known address informing him that his services were no longer needed as an employee, and requesting that all issued equipment be returned to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the China Grove Police Department  were investigating a domestic related crime involving 33-year-old Brian Long on Wednesday. He was suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. He was an employee of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to work in the Rowan County Detention Center.
