Sheriff: Woman Stole Almost $10,000 from Athletic OrganizationIREDELL COUNTY, N.C.-- An investigation of embezzlement from a local youth athletic association led deputies to the former Treasurer. Susan Williams, 39, was arrested Sunday and charged with embezzlement. Williams, who served as Treasurer of the Cloverleaf Youth Athletic Association, had access to the organization's bank accounts. The President of the association reported $9,102 was withdrawn through several ATM transactions by Williams from May 2012 to January 2013. Williams admitted to deputies that she did withdraw the money for personal use. She was given a $3,000 unsecured bond. |
