Sikh Community Partners with CMPD
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Charlotte's Sikh community is reaching out to CMPD for safety.

Last week a Wisconsin gunman killed six people at a Sikh temple. Temple leaders say Sikh worshipers have been targeted since the 9/11 attacks.

One week after the deadly shooting spree, the Sikh temple in Oak Creek hosted a special Sunday service. About 100 people took part in a traditional Sikh cleaning and rebirth ceremony. It symbolizes a fresh start.
Usually, the temple only holds it once a year in April. Two of the people who were hurt in the shooting remain in the hospital.
