Southpark Mall's New Recycle Program
CHARLOTTE,NC--The Southpark Mall has a new plan to minimize it's impact on the environment.
Mall officials unveiled a new recycling program Friday that is intended to recycle plastic film, the wrapping that the products come in before they are unpacked and displayed in the stores.
Southpark Mall General Manager, Randy Thomas, " We want to be one of the leaders in sustainability."
It is reported the that 20% of waste that leaves the mall is plastic film which is second behind cardboard.
The new decision is a great start in sustainable thinking.
