CHARLOTTE, N.C.--High above Uptown Charlotte, progress is being made throughout all 22 stories of the Skye Condominiums. After the building fell into foreclosure and construction stalled, new owners fast tracked the projected. 70 percent of the luxury high rise's exterior will be complete before the Democratic National Convention. "Things are moving along as planned and we're really excited  about the way things have taken shape," said Scott Russo with SKYE Condominiums.

At the Epicentre a few blocks away, a new valet stand is under construction, "We're just sprucing up and cleaning up and getting ready for one of the biggest events in Charlotte's history," said Ed Camp, Epicentre's Director of Business Development and Public  Relations. Workers are also adding new signs, plants, benches, trash cans, and artwork.

"Like any good Southern host we want to be ready for all the people  when they come to the front porch and recreate front porch by the arena, the front porch of what's going on," Camp said.

Drivers have to deal with cones and construction signs as streets in Uptown are resurfaced and sidewalks are repaired. Workers are busy fighting against the clock in order to complete their makeover of the Queen City just in time for the D.N.C.

"We'll be ready, we're almost there, we can certainly see the finish line,"
Camp said.

Skye Condominiums are scheduled to be complete by August, 2013.
