Father of Child Killed In Lincoln County Dirt Collapse Arrested

LINCOLNTON, NC --  Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives charged a Stanley man in connection with an incident that occurred on April 8, 2013.

Officers discovered six firearms including an AR-15 rifle and marijuana in the home of Jordan Keely Arwood.  Arwood was charged on Monday with possession of a firearm by a felon and manufacturing a controlled substance. He is currently in custody under a $20,000 secured bond.

Investigation into the deaths of two young children including Arwood’s daughter at a construction site on the property is continuing.  When the investigation is completed the information will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.

Arwood’s first court appearance is on Tuesday.
