Supporters Rough 10 Hour Lines For DNC TicketsCHARLOTTE, NC- Thousands of people waited in line for hours Saturday trying to get in on the DNC action. Supporters of President Obama, many who volunteered with the campaign, waited in line for tickets to see the President officially accept the Democratic nomination at Bank of America Stadium on September 6. The Loflins waited in line for over 10 hours. "We saw him four year ago when he was campaigning and we actually went up to D.C. for the inauguration as well," said Andy Loflin, a Mooresville resident. The icing on the cake will be seeing him there in their hometown. The long wait was a family affair for the Pincham family who lost a very patriotic family member in May. "I lost my Dad.He voted before he passed away so we're out here to honor his dedication and I've never missed a voting opportunity and I want them to be the same way," said Reggie Pincham, a Matthews resident. Like many families in line, the pinchams have volunteered over 30 hours for the Obama campaign. For supporters who spent their Saturday waiting, they say it was worth the long wait. "This is a historic moment in our life and in my front yard in Uptown Charlotte and I'm not missing it," said Christine Kirk, an Uptown Charlotte resident. |
