Suspect Arrested in East Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- The suspect wanted in connection with a murder in Grier Heights was arrested Thursday, the same day as a candlelight vigil in honor of the victim.

Gregory David Tillery, 24, was arrested by SLED in Greenwood, S.C. based on information given by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. 

Tillery will be extradited to Mecklenburg County. According to officials with SLED, Tillery had a handgun with him at the time of the arrest.

Michael Anthony was found dead from a gunshot wound on Dunn Avenue in Grier Heights earlier in November. Residents of the area held a candlelight vigil Thursday evening in honor of Anthony.
