Suspect Arrested in Huntersville Parking Lot RobberiesHUNTERSVILLE, N.C.-- Police in Huntersville arrested a man accused of robbing one woman and attempting to rob another in a shopping center parking lot. Darrin Keith Patterson, 47, of Cornelius, was arrested Tuesday and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. According to police, just after 10:30 a.m. Monday a woman reported someone reached into her open car window and attempted to take the keys out and demanded her property. Minutes earlier, another woman reported someone approached her demanding her vehicle. Neither victim was injured. Both incidents occurred in the parking lot of the Northcross Shopping Center on Sam Furr Road. During the investigation detectives discovered Patterson is currently on Federal probation for a previous carjacking in New York and is a registered sex offender. |
