Suspect Who Robbed Church at Gunpoint Arrested

MONROE, N.C.-- Police in Monroe arrested the suspect accused of robbing people inside a church on New Year's Eve.

Police were called to the New Life Church of God on Engleside Street around 9 p.m. December 31 after visitors reported a masked man came into the church with a gun and robbed them.

Scottavais Lorenzo Hailey, 27, was arrested Monday charged with five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Hailey is in the Union County Jail under a $100,000.
