DUNN, NC--A jaw-dropping jailhouse confession: a woman accused of killing a Pennsylvania man whom she met through Craigslist says she has killed dozens of others, including some right here in North Carolina.

Nineteen-year-old Miranda Barbour told police she and her husband just wanted to kill someone together in November.  A newspaper reporter in Pennsylvania saya Barbour floored him with claims of killing dozens of people, starting when she was just 13 years old, with victims in North Carolina, Alaska, and Texas.

"I said, 'Miranda, as you sit here, do you have any remorse whatsoever?' asked Daily Item reporter Francis Scarcella.  "And she said, 'None.'"  While a member of a satanic cult, Barbour claims to have killed fewer than 100 people, but says she stopped counting at 22.

Barbour once lived with relatives in Coats, North Carolina, in Harnett County, and worked at a local grocery store.  Neighbors say she seemed like a sweet girl, and they are shocked by her arrest.

The Dunn Police Chief told WCCB's Kirk Hawkins he isn't looking into Barbour as part of any investigations.  The Harnett County Sheriff has not returned our calls.
