Teen Driver Causes Fatal Crash After Drinking
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- A family grieves the loss of their 15-year-old after a fatal car accident on Wednesday night.
Police say 18-year-old Sydney McDaniel, a student at Rocky River High School, had been drinking when she drove her car into a tree on Pence Road at Holly Hill Road. Martha Rosales was in the backseat and was pronounced dead at the scene.
McDaniel's 11-month-old baby was also in the car at the time. According to reports, the child is in serious condition at Carolina Medical Center
McDaniel has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, driving after consuming alcohol underage, fictitious tag on vehicle, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and possession of marijuana.
