Third Arrest Made In University Area Murder and Crime Spree
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds are facing charges in a crime spree that ended with a man being killed in the University area of Charlotte.
Investigators say Randy Lloyd and a juvenile shot Ronald Gullette at his home on Hemby Woods Drive. The shooting happened Sunday morning.
Police say the crime spree started hours before when the suspects carjacked two drivers at gunpoint.
"Decided that they wanted to go robbing people; that's the understanding that we have," said CMPD Major Mike Smathers. "That was their sole goal, and they just went driving around the city and saw people that they thought were suitable victims."
Bobby Hargrove was arrested Tuesday morning. He has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder in the case.
A teenage girl was charged with obstruction. CMPD is still looking for other suspects in the case.
