Third Suspect Arrested in Connection with September HomicideCHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit have arrested a third suspect in connection with a September murder. Keith Cureton, 18, has been arrested and charged with Murder and two counts of Armed Robbery in the murder of Zachary Pittman. Police responded to a call for service in reference to shots fired near English Setter Drive on September 5, 2012. The victim was struck by gunfire and proceeded to flee the area on foot towards English Setter Drive where he subsequently collapsed. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located Cureton this morning and he is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office. CMPD arrested Trellis Rogers and Brandon Newkirk on murder charges for the same incident just days after Pittman was killed.
