Two Arrested in Connection to Child ExploitationNEWTON, N.C.-- A joint investigation by several law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, resulted in the arrests of two Newton men. According to the Newton Police Department, two independent search warrants were executed which led to separate arrests. Michael Eugene Hedrick, 49, was charged with three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. John Christopher Smith, 41, was charged with two counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Both Hedrick and Smith were brought to the Catawba County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond. |
